STRIKER Rob Hulse was today turning his loan spell at Leeds United into a permanent transfer from West Brom.
Hulse, 25, has been on loan at Elland Road for three months and has scored six goals in 13 appearances. He has long been keen to make the move permanent and Leeds have now reached agreement with the Baggies.
Hulse became an instant hit with Leeds fans when he scored twice on his debut in a 3-1 win over Reading in February.
Ironically, he squandered several scoring opportunities in yesterday's 0-0 Championship draw against relegated Rotherham.
Hulse, Matthew Spring and Marlon King all hit the woodwork while a catalogue of chances, largely carved out by the brilliance of 18-year-old Aaron Lennon, went begging in the second half.
Rotherham also had their chances with former York City loanee Michael Proctor missing a simple headed chance before being denied by a superb save by Neil Sullivan.
Hulse will be the first to put pen to paper but other arrivals are expected and there will be departures too as Blackwell wheels and deals during a busy summer.
Chairman Ken Bates revealed in his programme notes that Eirik Bakke, Michael Ricketts and Julian Joachim do not figure in Blackwell's plans.
He also announced that Lucas Radebe will have a new supporter facility in the West Stand named after him in recognition of his service to the club over the last 11 years.
Radebe was given a hero's farewell when he left the bench five minutes from the end to make his 200th league appearance in his final game.
But a lap of honour by the players had to be cancelled when hundreds of Leeds supporters ran on to the pitch after the final whistle yesterday and refused to return to their seats.
