I CANNOT for the life of me understand why homeless Richard Miner, above, says he has to bed down behind the steering wheel of his Citroen ZX (Vroom With A View, May 3).

He could get a good night's kip by shuffling across to the passenger seat or in the rear seat, better still with a bit of forethought he should have spent his benefits money on a large estate car, which these days for an old model costs peanuts. With the rear seats folded down, such a car makes a roomy double bed which, from experience in my younger days, I can highly recommend.

I AM writing about 39-year-old Richard Miner sleeping in a car in lay-bys (May 3). I ask him has he got car tax and insurance to drive around?
