Peters Delite, runner-up in his last two starts, can make it third-time-lucky at Yarmouth tomorrow.
The three-year-old, trained at Malton by the in-form Richard Fahey, goes for the Custom Kitchens Classified Stakes and will be ridden by stable-jockey Paul Hanagan.
Peters Delite shaped well on his reappearance at Catterick, staying on well into second place and ran a similar, if not even better, race in defeat when second in a handicap at Chester last week.
He looks a winner waiting to happen and, fingers crossed, will score tomorrow as my Nap selection.
Doitnow also has good prospects for Fahey and Hanagan in the Betfred Sprint Series Handicap (Qualifier).
The speedy four-year-old, a winner first-time-out last season at Ripon, ran several good races in defeat afterwards, often facing stiff tasks in handicaps for an inexperienced horse.
Doitnow promises to pay his way again this term and his second-placed effort behind Gift Horse at Doncaster a week ago leaves the suggestion that he is approaching peak form.
Tomorrow's Musselburgh meeting is a banded fixture, which means that the races are for low-grade horses, running for minimum prize-money of £2,000 per contest.
There is no lack of demand for such fare and, with all horses in a similar boat, competition is pretty fierce.
American Cousin, a stalwart of Dandy Nicholls' Sessay yard, runs in his 100th race, in the Gullane Stakes over five furlongs, and will be seeking his 14th career win.
It would be great to see him back in the winners' circle and he is not without a chance, but on this occasion, I favour the chances of The Old Soldier, trained near Thirsk by Allan Dickman and the mount of Dave Allan.
