IF YOU don't know your Cosmopolitan from your Pina Colada or your Toblerone from your Singapore Sling, then here is a chance to pull up your bar stool and sign up for cocktail college.
Macmillan Cancer Relief has teamed up with Bar 38 in York to put on a fundraising event on June 18, which they believe will be the first of its kind in the city.
A dedicated mixologist will teach cocktail lovers how to mix their favourite drinks and help them to shake their own cocktails. There will also be a bar flaring display.
In the UK, more than a million people are living with cancer and four in ten will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime.
Macmillan Cancer Relief provides vital services which help to improve the quality of life for people with cancer and their families. Locally, there are 18 specialist nurses, and Macmillan is fundraising this year for a carer-scheme to support patients in the community - allowing them to be cared for at home and providing respite for carers and families.
Fundraising manager Nikki Hawkins said: "Our DIY Daquiri event will not only be unique and fun, but it will also make a real difference to local people living with cancer through the money we raise. We're asking all cocktail fans out there to raise a glass for Macmillan Cancer Relief on June 18. Tickets are £10 each and include two free cocktails and lite bites."
