THE latest novel by Ms Blair, otherwise known as Mr Bill Spence of Ampleforth, is set in Whitby in the 19th century when most of the sea-faring trade came from whaling.
The families of Sam Coulson and Seaton Campion have grand plans for expanding their shipping businesses. An arranged marriage between Martin, eldest son of Sam and Alicia, and the daughter of Seaton would seal the deal.
However, tragedy strikes when one of their ships returns without six of its crew, among them Martin Coulson. Chaos ensues, with business deals failing and relationships falling by the wayside, until another ship disappears.
This is yet another excellent book from Bill Spence, with intrigue, revenge and love galore.
