THE most disappointing aspect of York City's 2004-05 season, apart from the results, was the news that Paul Stancliffe and Brian Neaves are to leave after years of service to the club.
Their contribution to youth football and York City has been outstanding and deserves the highest praise.
Without the players that they have helped to bring through, City would be in a far worse position than they currently are.
If anyone in football in the present day deserves a testimonial match, then these two surely do.
I am sure all City supporters would like to join me in wishing Paul and Brian all the best for the future.
