THREE wins by Sam Watson and Tony Bebbington failed to prevent Shepherds 'B' team losing 5-4 playing away to RI Tuesday/Thursday 'C' in York Badminton League men's division three.
Watson and Bebbington had totalled 90-53 in their three wins.
Clive Debenham and Lisa Turner led the way as Huntington 'A' eased their mixed division two relegation problems with an 8-1 win over Easingwold at the Mount School.
Alison Monk and Phil Young got Easingwold's point with a 15-10 7-15 15-9 win over Carolyn Arden and John Deighton.
Huntington 'A' lost their next match 5-4 at home to Selby/Drax 'B', whose Aeen Graham and Adam Prescott beat Lisa Turner and Clive Debenham 15-4 13-15 15-10 in the final rubber to win the match.
Shepherds kept on the winning trail in mixed division two with an 8-1 home win over Selby/Drax 'B', followed by a 6-3 away win over Easingwold. Sean Ogley and Lisa McClaren were unbeaten in both matches, with a six-rubber total of 196-103.
Chris Kunkel and Sally Howat had one onf their best matches this season, totalling 99-63 in three wins as Pocklington 'A' won 6-3 away to Knavesmire. This included 7 and 7 win over John Major and Joy Wilson, who scored two wins for Knavesmire.
RI Tuesday/Thursday 'A' were given a hard time by their 'B' team club-mates before winning 6-3 in mixed division three.
Ellen Mooney and Bill Clemmitt gained two wins for the 'B' team but lost 11 and 9 to Ian Sinker and Marlene Woodward, who totalled 101-77 in three wins for the 'A' team.
In their next matgch, RI Tuesday/Thursday 'B' lost 5-4 at home to Nestl Rowntree 'B', whose Steve Andrew and Shelley Tatterton totalled 105-70 in three wins, which included an 8 and 4 success over Caroline Newnham and Wasten Siallagon who scored two wins for the Institute.
Fulfordgate 'A' team's Hazel Winfield and Matt Hobman were on top form but unable to prevent 6-3 defeats way to Selby Jubilee 'B' and York University Staff Club 'B' in mixed division four. Winfield and Hobman had a six-rubber return of 180-79.
