IN November 2003 I had an accident falling down the steps from the top to the bottom at the Parliament Street toilets in York. I sustained painful injuries and went to hospital after being picked up at the bottom of the steps by two men.
I am in the process of suing the city council's insurers for negligence. My claim is on the basis there were not any warning signs in place at that time stating that the steps may be slippery during inclement weather.
Are there any of your readers who have had a similar experience at the Parliament Street toilets, but have not/have complained?
I was too shocked and distressed to obtain the two gentlemen's names or addresses at the time of the incident. Hence my appeal for witnesses who could attest that there were no warning signs in place.
D Cousins,
Redcoat Way, York.
