BLINK and you could have been in South America.
The York Carnival offered a colourful spectacle yesterday, bringing a samba procession through the city centre, with drums, whistles and maracas.
The carnival visited other parts of the world too, celebrating music and dance from around the globe.
It was just a shame the organisers couldn't arrange some South American weather for the occasion. But spirits remained high despite the damp conditions and with luck this cheerful event will return next year.
