I HAVE seen York's Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando! Last night we were treated to what must be the most professional amateur production of Guys And Dolls ever performed in a local theatre.
Opening nights are often a nervous affair. However, after months of rehearsals with daily work and weekends, it was apparent what we were seeing was not just a show, but one performed by players who have a passion for the art. The songs were familiar greats, there is laughter throughout and the dancing was a hoot. The singing matched Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando in the original film version. The gangsters' colourful suits and the undressing of the Hot Box girls shows great wardrobe creativity. There is no weak link in this company and tickets are selling well, so don't miss it - this show will be talked about for years to come!
