A DOG Named Hero complete the line-up for the second round of the Fibbers/Evening Press Battle of the Bands 2005 after their victory in Round One, Heat 12, this week.
Battle resumes at Fibbers, in Stonebow, York, on May 11, when Cardboard Radio meet the challenge of Toyshelf and End These Days. Clashes to follow are: May 17, Ironic, Kanuba, Fado Rock (the highest-scoring first round runners-up with 45 per cent); May 31, Paragon, The Lieutenants, The Red Room Theory; June 14, Kiwis Ned, Bad Shots Reunion, Those In Favour;
June 21, bookies' favourites Idle Jack and The Big Sleep, The Tungsten Beanbags, The Stimulagos; June 22; Delta Volts, A Dog Named Hero, The Federals.
Doors open at 7.30pm for the 8pm start of each heat, and admission is £3. The six heat winners and three highest-scoring runners-up will progress to the semi-finals.
From this round onwards, the Evening Press review team and photographers will cover all the action, all the way to the final.
