YORK City groundsman Jez Milner received a £2,000 cheque from the club's vice-presidents towards the sanding and re-seeding of the KitKat Crescent pitch this summer, writes Dave Flett.
Manager Billy McEwan has placed great importance on producing a decent playing surface for next season's Conference campaign and Milner will be assisted in his efforts by money raised at the vice-presidents' dinner.
David Cocker, the vice-presidents' chairman, made the presentation before Saturday's 4-0 victory over Farnborough on the final day of the season.
City have also reported a good response to their appeal to help smarten up KitKat Crescent during the summer break.
