HIGH flying executives looking for a super-mansion in York and North Yorkshire have found a champion in husband and wife team Fiona and Simon Gilbert.

The Gilberts, of Humberton, near Boroughbridge, have launched Prestige Relocation and offer to scout for luxury homes then film them for relaying to their clients. Fiona said: "Generally, we look for properties worth anything from £500,000 to £2 million.

"We need to know where these available properties can be found in York and North Yorkshire because they are rare and with burgeoning demand tend to be quickly snapped up."

But, she said, with a combined experience of 35 years in the property market, the couple's contacts often ensured that they got to hear about these prize properties before they officially come to market.

She said: "There is a big tendency for top London firms to seek to take advantage of new business parks, such as the York Science Park or the impending York Central and relocate, or open outposts.

"The top people they need to guide these ventures want homes and don't have the time to find them."

The Gilberts built up GLT, a successful Harrogate-based specialist health and long-term care property agency, over ten years, until they sold it to LNT Construction in 2002 for an undisclosed sum.
