VETERAN Willie Knight scored 40 of Askham Bryan YPO's 136-7 against Selby in division four of the HPH York Vale Cricket League.
But that did not deter Selby's top order as Gary Wright (44no) and Phil Jolly (52no) saw Selby home by nine wickets.
Another seasoned campaigner, Doug Bartle, guided Woodhouse Grange to victory over Copmanthorpe.
His 4-13, along with John Henly's 4-23, bowled out Copmanthorpe for 107, of which Richard Hague scored 40. Bartle scored 39 runs to ease Grange home by four wickets.
Steve Goldsborough's all-round performance helped Burn hammer Thorpe Willoughby in division five. Stuart Rowley hit 59 for Burn in their 176-4 before Goldsborough took 5-11 as Thorpe folded for 69.
Melbourne's Tim Blackmore scored 53 of his side's 144-8 against Malton and Old Malton. David Chugg (4-26) was the pick of the Malton attack but his batsmen found it hard going against good all-round bowling and closed at 116-9.
The Dent family dominated as Wheldrake beat Selby by eight wickets.
Youngster Callum Dent took 3-15 and his dad, Kevin, weighed in with 3-14 as Selby were bowled out for 50. Callum then raced to 24no to speed Wheldrake to victory.
