former York-based jockey Alan Munro can continue his successful return to Britain by riding another winner at Nottingham tomorrow.
He teams-up with Auwitesweetheart in the Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce And Industry Fillies' Handicap and has good prospects of steering Rod Millman's recent scorer to a follow-up success.
Munro, back to riding this season after four years out of racing, has ridden eight winners for Millman in recent weeks.
Auwitesweetheart was among them, scoring at Bath last week when she had six lengths to spare at the line.
The handicapper has raised the sprinter 10lb in future handicaps from Saturday onwards, hence the reason why Millman is running her under a 6lb penalty tomorrow.
Millman and Munro have another solid winning chance with Glenmuir in the Attraction Novice Median Auction Stakes. Glenmuir was a strong winner at Kempton on his debut at the beginning of the month.
Munro was a successful apprentice with Mel Brittain at Warthill, York in the 1980s. He was later first jockey to the late Prince Fahd Salman, whose colours he wore when winning the Derby on Generous in 1991. Munro went on to ride for several seasons in Hong Kong.
At Musselbugh, Mick Easterby's Top Dirham is napped to win the www.edmonds.co.uk Handicap. The seven-year-old was beaten little more than a length into fourth place by Torrid Kentavr at Newcastle three weeks ago.
