NESTLE Rowntree RUFC lost 14-10 at Pocklington Merovingians in their final game of ther season.
Merovingians caught 'Trees cold when one of their three talented 17-year-olds, centre Brad Bold, stripped the ball and raced 50 metres for a try converted by hooker Geoff Knight in only the second minute.
'Trees reduced the gap with good handling putting winger Sean Harvey over in the corner.
Pock started the second half as brightly as the first with lock Tim Drew crossing for a converted try. Nestl battled hard with captain Dom O'Sullivan prominent and in the last minute when 53-year-old lock Alan Sparham picked up and dived over for his first try for two seasons.
