A SUPERB display of pellet fishing saw Mick Addinall (Spectrum Auto Services) blitz the latest Bob-Co Tackle-backed event at Carpvale on Sunday.
Drawn on peg 28 on the Match Lake the York-based rod opted to target the bream that have been showing in pegs on the opposite bank.
After cupping in a pot of expander and micro pellets at ten-metres close to a snag he offered single expander pellet on a size 16 hook. Bream responded at steady intervals and he finished the day with 20 to 4lbs plus two small carp for a winning 63lb 6oz
Paul Fawcett (Bob-Co) took second from peg four on Cyprio where he targeted the snags in the corner with meat fished shallow and at depth. Although he lost a few fish in the snags his 11 fish scaled 40lb 10oz for second
Others: John Fletcher (Bob-Co) 36-10-0, Graham Boardley (Bob-Co) 35-8-0, Gary Watson (Leeds) 31-6-0 and Andy Gallant (Bob-Co) 28-10-0.
In a brilliant contest at the Willows, which saw 20 anglers top 40lb, it was cat meat specialist Graham Boardley (Bob-Co) who triumphed from peg 44 on Goldrush.
Offering two cubes of his favourite feline fancy at 14 metres and close in he netted 61lb 12oz of carp to 6lb.
Top weight on Ridgepool went to Ali Wilkes (Willows) from peg 15 where he netted 59lb 8oz of carp to 6lb on pellet at 14 metres. But for the loss of six huge fish estimated at double figures he could have done the 'ton'.
Others: Andy Rymer (Sensas Walton) 59-2-0, Neil Rymer (Sensas Walton) 58-8-0, Ben Fisk (Team Smartbait Leeds) 55-10-0 and Stuart Thompson (Leeds Angling Centre) 52-2-0.
It was a much tighter frame at Oaktree Leisure as maggot took over as the top bait. Leading the proceedings with 28lb was Steve Cromie, who worked mainly at 12 metres where bream to three pounds and carp to four were the target.
Second spot was filled by Paul Burton who used corn and pellet at 10 metres off a peg 39 draw to take 25lb of carp to three pounds.
Others: Ray Orr 23-4-0, Scott Brady and Keith Fennick both 22-12-0 and Darren Greaves 22-4-0.
Raker Lakes served up another top flight match in which Paul Kozyra triumphed with a super 92lb 6oz as the carp fed with a will. Using pellet just a foot below the surface on the long pole at peg 22 Paul hit carp to four pounds along with skimmers to score a convincing win.
Stewart Birdikin filled second place with a level 70lb of small carp, also taken on pellet and long pole at peg five.
Others: John Cosgrove 64-7-0, Geoff Wilmore 50-4-0, Oliver Hewitt 45-14-0 and Gareth Sellars 38-14-0.
