David Burrows and Lee Eastoe toppled opponents from Malton and Norton in their Daily Mail foursomes clash to earn a home tie in the next round against Fulford.

And in the Mail on Sunday Team Classic, Kilnwick Percy toppled visiting Filey. Kevin Beattie won 4 and 3, Burrows finished all-square while Tim Leach and Kyle Mathers won their respective games 2 and 1. The only defeats were those suffered by Neil Atkinson and Steve Cooper, each by 4 and 3.

Seniors and ladies dodged April showers to take part in the first 'Sendies' Trophy match for which a cup was donated by Tom Alderdice. The men took the honours with a moderate lead over their female counterparts.
