Rosie Redman, the pride and joy of the Turner family from Helperby, travels to her local Wetherby course tomorrow with excellent prospects of landing the richest race on the card.
The £10,500 Yellow Pages Handicap Chase over an extended three miles is the target of Nap selection Rosie Redman, trained by Jimmy Turner and bred by Billy, his brother.
A prolific winner last season, Rosie Redman has not enjoyed a great deal of luck this term, even though she scored at Doncaster in late-November.
She subsequently took a fall, back at Doncaster when looking a likely winner and, although running below-par on her next outing, at Kelso in February, she was found to be suffering from a virus which took two months out of her season.
Rosie Redman is flying high again now, however, and was a gritty winner on her latest comeback outing at Kelso, where she crossed the line with 16 lengths to spare.
A thoroughly admirable mare, who has had a relatively light campaign, she is fit and fresh for tomorrow's target, which promises a bullseye hit. Malton jockey David O'Meara, her usual pilot, will be in the saddle.
Colin Tinkler, the former Malton trainer, now based in Berkshire, has good prospects of completing a double on a course he knows well, not least from his days as a top-notch jump jockey back in the 1970s and 80s.
Tinkler can score with Present Glory in the opening yell.com Maiden Hurdle, while Bob Ar Aghaidh, a decent hurdler, has an excellent chance of finding opportunity knocking over the major obstacles in the 118 247 Beginners' Chase.
David Nicholls, based between Easingwold and Thirsk, can be rewarded with a double at Brighton.
The canny trainer has pinpointed the DJMT Magnotherapy Horse Rug Selling Stakes as a suitable target for Ballybunion, a creditable fifth to The Number at Catterick on his latest start. Tomorrow's shorter distance will not inconvenience him.
Artie's Lad can be win for the Sessay stable in the Icebusters Handicap over five and a half furlongs.
At Catterick early in the month he chased home Matsunosuke. Third-placed Why Now was a winner at Southwell earlier this week.
