Fulford enhanced their John Smith's York Sunday Morning League division three title chances and ended those of The Plough with a 4-1 win to reduce the chase to just two teams.
Jimmy Parvin (3) and a Joe Smart penalty did the damage with Paul Downes scoring for The Plough, whose title charge petered out after a 2-2 draw on Tuesday at home to Inland Revenue.
Leaders Hambleton fell behind to a tenth minute goal by Ambler for Inland Revenue. Farrar and Croad then put them ahead only for Ingram to equalise four minutes from time. Hambleton weren't to be denied, however, as just two minutes later Farrar struck to give them a 3-2 win and keep them in pole position.
The race for the division one title is certainly hotting up.
Marcia travelled to second-placed Derwent United on Tuesday and came away with a point despite being reduced to ten men after half an hour. A Seb Towse penalty put the home side ahead after a handball resulted in the dismissal of a Marcia defender. Andy Green later equalised.
Marcia went to Hounds two nights later but torrential rain caused the game to be abandoned after 55 minutes with the score at 2-2.
Derwent United had no such problems as goals from Towse (2), Collins (2) and Wilford secured a 5-2 win at Ainsty Panthers, whose scorers were Dawson and King.
The top three all won at the weekend. Severus SC held Marcia for an hour before Green (2), Tony Wetherell (2) and Steve Ward gave the leaders a 5-0 win.
Goals from Carter, Collier and Cygan saw Hounds secure a 3-0 win at Pocklington, while Collins, Towse and Bradshaw netted for Derwent in their 3-1 win over Wigginton Grasshoppers.
Nestl Flag moved a step closer to overhauling Shipton at the top of division two with a 4-1 win over York Nomads Society, Dyson netting a hat-trick to take his season's tally to 38. Ross added the other with Hildon getting a consolation for Nomads.
Acomb WMC were always in control at Burnholme (Earswick) where a treble for Danny Gray and one apiece for Cooper, Jackson, Barker and Chipchase saw them to a 7-2 win. Mitchell and Ledgeway scored for the home side.
Stephen Jackson hit a hat-trick for Deramore Arms, but it wasn't enough as two apiece for Stuart and Eddie Phillips earned Edward VII a 4-3 win.
Skelton need just three points from their remaining two games to secure the division four title after wins over Gypsy Moth 7-0 and Acomb Celtic 1-0. Neal Holmes bagged four against Moth, and also got the only goal against Celtic.
Bay Horse (Tadcaster) went down to a surprise 4-3 defeat at the hands of Castle Howard Ox to goals from D Medley, J Medley, Bulmer and Ruddock. They responded with three wins in five days. Firstly they beat Rumours 4-1 with Drury netting twice, then edged out Black Swan 1-0 thanks to Murphy's strike and followed that with an 18-1 thrashing of the same side with Bardy (5) and Conway (4) the main contributors.
Selby Olympia opened the week with a 4-2 win over Acomb Celtic with a Craig Anderson brace, but dropped valuable points when they drew 3-3 at home with Wilberfoss, Jordan Lindley scoring twice. Bay Horse rounded off the week with a 2-1 win at struggling Enterprise to remain in second place.
Goals from Heads and Askew in the last 20 minutes gave Wilberfoss a 2-0 win over Albion Vaults.
Gypsy Moth defeated Enterprise 3-1 thanks to goals from Oxtoby, Cooper and goalkeeper Jason Morris and followed that with a 2-2 draw at Rumours where Oxtoby was on target again.
F1 Racing stretched their unbeaten run to ten games after overcoming Wilberfoss 5-3. Taylor put them ahead only for Holden to equalise before the break. Yeowart put F1 back in front and a Taylor lob made it 3-1. Johns pulled one back and Walker then levelled but Taylor completed his hat-trick before Tom White made the game safe with a solo goal.
The only title to be decided so far is in division five as Wanderers travelled to Selby Griffin knowing a point would be enough and came away with all three as Mark Cairns and Darren Brandon secured a 2-0 win.
Goals from Whitley, Sargent, Fenwick and an own goal gave Fulford Reserves a 4-1 win at CPP.
