A battle of the sexes has broken out at Heworth Tennis Club.
Players are going to find out which is the superior sex by fighting it out on court.
The men's team will play a match against the women's team, based on league rules tomorrow.
Heworth TC men's captain Loch Trimingham said: "We may be gentlemen, but we won't be chivalrous and let them win."
The challenge was made when the ladies team were promoted to division two in Fulford Ladies Invitation League last
season, while the men were relegated to division six in the Tyke Men's York League.
Trimingham suspected the women might be a little bit better, so it was decided to find out at the club in East Parade who is tops.
Ladies captain for the match Chris Vis said: "We plan to put up a good fight and show up the men."
