THIS double CD is an impressive showcase for multi-instrumentalist Phil Beer, one half of acoustic duo Show Of Hands.
Disc one is devoted to songs by the likes of Bob Dylan, The Band, Steely Dan and Jackson Browne. The Band's Acadian Driftwood is a particular delight.
Disc two is given over to instrumentals such as Flowers Of The Forest, the Gloucester Hornpipe and other tunes from chapel and ceilidh.
At first listening, it would be easy to assume Beer had called in a few favours from musician friends, but in reality, he played most of the instruments himself.
