YORK City Baths Club youngster Andrew Burns was in sparkling form at the Kingston Upon Hull Age group and Open meet.

He won five races, all in personal best times, -- 200metres individual medley, 100m butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle in the 11years age group. He also moved up to swim in the men's 200m butterfly and finished seventh.

It was more than enough to earn him the Top Boy award in his age group and help the York club land the Top Visiting club award.

YCBC swimmers won a dozen races, had 20 seconds and then thirds and a staggering 170pbs.

Hannah Petts, 13, stormed home to win the 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 200m IM. She also touched home second in the 100m freestyle and backstroke. In women's events she was second in the 100m butterfly and breaststroke and third in the 200m breaststroke.

In the same age group Rachel Eastaugh won the 100m freestyle in a national qualifying time and 100m backcrawl. She was second in the 100m butterfly and breaststroke and 200 IM as well as the women's 100m backcrawl.

Also striking gold were Michelle Moffat, 14, in the 100m freestyle and Sophie Glasby, 11, in the 100m backcrawl. Moffat was also second in the 200m backcrawl and IM and 100m freestyle and third in the 100m butterfly, Glasby got second place in both the 100m butterfly and freestyle and 200IM and was third in the 100m breaststroke.

Christopher Burns earned a place at the National Championships with a fantastic PB time in the 14 years 100m breaststroke when he finished in second spot. He was also third in the 200 IM.

Second places were also achieved by: Norbert Banhidy, 11, 100m backstroke; Rebecca Jenkins, 14, 100m butterfly; Sophie Edmonds-Alan, 11, 100m breaststroke, Jennifer Hodgson, 10, 50m breaststroke and 200m IM.

Third places were also achieved by Georgina Hart, 10, 50m butterfly and breaststroke, Claire Owen, 10, 50m freestyle; Kristy Smith, 11, 100m backcrawl; Thomas Jackson, 13, 100m butterfly; James Wilby, 11, 100m breaststroke.

Other York swimmers who reached finals were: Rachael Webster, Lucy Recchia, Hannah Waterfall, Alice Lawrenson, Hannah Garnett, Thomas Batram, James Rodgers, Mairi Macdonald, Andrew Fowler, Simon Duston, Claire Kilmartin, Bradley Swainston and Oliver Wilby.
