WAS the collapse of the Rover firm at Longbridge timed to happen just before the General Election?

I have spotted two examples of such timing by the Tories this year.

The first was when Thatcher's son had his South African sentence announced. Not good news for Tories given the front pages of the following day's papers, especially in an election year. Enter Prince Harry, who suddenly decided to wear a swastika and cover the front pages of every morning paper in the country the next day.

The second example of good timing was on the anniversary of the miners' strike recently, which everyone will remember as the day Michael Howard paraded an NHS complainant on all the TV channels and newspapers.
