AS a recent patient I feel compelled to write in support of York Hospital ('Hospital patient gets 'superbug'', April 18).
The floor was cleaned twice a day, the bedding was changed every day and more often if needed. Visitors were requested to clean their hands with an alcohol gel before leaving.
What is not readily recognised is that visitors can carry the MRSA superbug and innocently take it from one ward to another should the visitor have more than one patient to call upon.
