AFTER a band break-up and a rack of records which promised much but delivered little, Garbage return to the sound which sold ten million albums worldwide.
Bleed Like Me isn't in the same class as their self-titled debut, but it is a welcome return to form. Back is the electro-rock feel to their sound - heard most clearly in the album's title track, which is also the first single. Powerful and frenetic, Shirley Manson's aggressive, yet strangely tender, vocals shine through, and the result is a record which will appeal to the group's hard rock fans. Foo Fighters' front man Dave Grohl plays drums for the explosive Bad Boyfriend and Nirvana producer and bandmate Butch Vig grafts on his own style. A creditable effort.
