BILLIONS of pounds of taxpayers' money has been spent on an illegal war and occupation in Iraq. It is estimated that over 100,000 Iraqi lives have been lost as a result. British lives are lost.
Millions have protested both here and worldwide. Protest continues, especially in Iraq itself, against the occupation. York Against The War has organised a General Election hustings event for 7.30pm tomorrow, Thursday, April 21, at Friends Meeting House, Friargate, York, (further information 0772 9104431).
The parliamentary candidates for the Green, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative parties have been invited to respond to questions from members of the public and put their case on Iraq, Palestine and the Make Poverty History campaign. All welcome.
