YOUR news story 'Resident Baffled By Parking Policy' (April 14) states that the unfortunate citizen "has to flag down a taxi and cough up £5.50 even before he can use his vehicle.
After that he still has to work out a way of getting home from Acomb after parking his Isuzu Trooper. If he gets a cab, he has to pay another £5.50."
No, he has a number of other options:
1: Walk (it would take 40 minutes and save on gym fees);
2: Cycle (that jeep could take a bike in the back no trouble);
3: Take a bus;
4: Get rid of the car altogether and use a bike and the train.
There might well be reasons he does not do any of these things, but surely when writing a story like this they should be considered?
