FOOTBALLERS from St Oswald's Primary School, Fulford, were as solid as a rock as they won the Derwent Sports Association Six-a-Side competition.
The youngsters don't have a pitch at the moment as the school is undergoing a move to new facilities and so play in the school yard.
The Derwent competition marked their first game on grass this season and they won the round-robin large schools event in some style beating Stamford Bridge 2-1, North Duffield 2-1, Dunnington 1-0 and drawing 0-0 with Wheldrake.
Their winning squad was Scott Shepherd (capt), Tom Craddock, Sam Pepper, Sam Watkin, Henry Walker, Ashley Hope, Chris Tune, Cameron MacLeod and Jack Le Huray.
