TRIUMPHANT teacher Fiona McCallion proved she was not The Weakest Link when she went home from the television quiz show with more than £2,000 in prize money.

The Year Five teacher at Tang Hall Primary School survived the acid tongue of quiz presenter Anne Robinson and scooped the BBC2 show's jackpot of £2,120.

Now Miss McCallion, 40, of Leeman Road, has to decide what to do with the cash.

She said: "As the show went on I was thinking: 'I'm still here, I'm still here,' and then I got right to the end.

"I won £2,120 - it's like winning the Lottery. It's just free money, money that I never expected - so I'm trying desperately trying not to be sensible with it.

"I'll probably end up going on a big posh holiday.

"We have already had a party at the school to celebrate."

Miss McCallion filmed the show at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire in the Easter holidays and was sworn to secrecy about the outcome.

But last night the show aired and viewers saw Miss McCallion survive round after round.

Anne Robinson accused her of being "a bit of a schemer" by answering two questions incorrectly in the penultimate round "so as not to be spotted as a clever-clogs".

But the York teacher went on to win the quiz show by answering four questions correctly, in a tense head-to-head final against a computer expert from Gateshead.

She told the Evening Press: "The first question of the final was which Victoria Wood sketch had recently been turned into a musical. I knew the answer because I had organised a trip for all my friends down to the show. Apparently my face was a picture.

"I'm glad I didn't get the other guy's questions because I couldn't have answered them.

"There was no nastiness between the contestants, we all just wanted to have a great time."
