I WAS disturbed to read that the Norfolk Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education is proposing in guidelines for teaching communion that there should be no reference to 'the body of Christ' or 'the blood of Christ'.
At the Last Supper, Jesus gave his disciples bread and wine saying "This is my body; this is my blood." This is the miracle of Transubstantiation.
For a supposed Christian country, this is the latest dumbing down in morals and standards. We seemed to be plagued by PC quangos whose only purpose is to dilute our history and traditions.
This move follows closely on the heels of the de-Christianisation of Christmas. As a Christian, I hope other education authorities do not feel compelled to follow suit.
