DELIGHTED York City Knights boss Mick Cook said enjoyment was the name of the game after watching his side wallop Sheffield Eagles.

The Knights triumphed 60-10 at Huntington Stadium yesterday to record the biggest win in any LHF National League Two fixture so far this season and rise to third in the table after three games.

It was their biggest win under Cook and only the fifth time the new club had topped the 60-point mark, while winger Peter Fox scored four tries -- the second-best individual match haul of any Knights player, behind Mark Cain's five-try show in the play-off mauling of Workington last year.

The four-try feat by Fox was the best by any Knights' player in a regular-season fixture.

"They were enjoying themselves at times," said Cook of his players, who scored 11 tries in all.

"They get bashed around a bit but they enjoy the game, that's why they play it. They just went out and played and got the result they deserved.

"We played a lot of quality football and we played at a high tempo for a massive part of the game. We would have asked questions of any team with that performance."

Cook had praise for Fox but hailed the team performance as a whole. "We had to open both doors to get him in the changing room," he joked.

"He deserved it, and the team deserved what they got after the work they've done in training.

"Sixty points is a great effort at any standard. Some of the support play, the passing and the line running was very good. There were a lot of positives to take out of the game."

Cook had reshuffled his half-backs, bringing back Paul Thorman and captain Chris Levy at six and seven, and was pleased with their displays behind a dominant pack.

"Our forwards had a bit of a point to prove," he said. "Sheffield's pack was going to be a challenge for us but our blokes raised their game and came out well on top.

"We tested them early on the edges and some quality skills and excellent passing made it difficult for them to defend.

"Our kicking game was also quite impressive and we got some tries as a result of that.

"Chris Levy put a lot of quality kicks in, got two tries through support play and nearly another with individual play, and Paul Thorman had another quality game.

"It's given me some selection problems for next week. Scott Rhodes will be right, then there's the likes of Matt Blaymire, Mick Ramsden and others who are itching to get back. But if the lads are producing on the pitch it's hard not to keep faith in them."

Sheffield coach Mark Aston -- a former team-mate of Cook at the Eagles -- said: "We got what we deserved.

"I thought we looked clueless and didn't know how to get out of it. I'm not accepting that as a coach. York are not 60 points better than us if we had the right attitude."
