Tom Fruit, who opened his account over fences at Sedgefield recently, travels to Cumbria tomorrow in a bid to complete a quick double for his trainer Tim Easterby.
The gelding was hardly winning out of turn on his latest start, having run well in defeat on his previous outing at Stratford, where he finished second to Grey Report.
Tom Fruit never looked in any danger of defeat at Sedgefield and had two-and-a-half lengths to spare over Nomadic Blaze at the line.
The Great Habton raider steps up to three miles tomorrow in the Bowness Novices' Handicap Chase and has every chance of obliging again under Russ Garritty. He is awarded the nap vote.
Wilful Lord is another horse bidding to complete a quick double in the Racing UK Novices' Handicap Chase.
John Wade's charge had been largely disappointing before winning at Sedgefield last time, where the first-time application of a tongue-strap duly worked the oracle on the eight-year-old.
Kenny Johnson, who got a good tune out of Wilful Lord at Sedgefield, has the mount again tomorrow.
Norton trainer Malcolm Jefferson, who was born in Cumbria, has good prospects of getting on the scoresheet with Cumbrian Knight in the Solway Beginners' Chase.
A successful hurdler, Cumbrian Knight faced a tough task at Bangor last time, locking horns with the likes of the classy Saintsaire and Brown Teddy, and was comfortably beaten into third place. He faces a lesser challenge here and should not be underestimated.
In the North West Racing Club Sir Cumference has a decent chance of gaining an overdue win.
At Stratford, Tarongo goes for a hat-trick of wins in the totequadpot Handicap Chase over two and a half miles.
The seven-year-old, trained by Lavinia Taylor, has rattled-up a brace of wins at Plumpton, the latest being a comfortable three-and-a-half lengths triumph from the favourite Myson.
