THROW your bibles away all you Christians.
Rory Mulvihill tells us not only is the Bible incorrect but is only a human recollection of stories hundreds of thousands of years old (Letters, April 5). Well Rory, the Bible quite clearly tells us that all scripture is God breathed, 2 Tim 3.16, and also that no prophecy of scripture came about by the prophets' own interpretation.
Prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit, 2 Peter 1.20.
Jesus told his disciples the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you, John 14.26. This is why the Bible is a living word, one by which we should all set our standards.
The fact that so many don't is truly alarming.
