MANY readers have rightly congratulated GNER on winning a new franchise.
But I was curious to read the letter from Mr Meehan, complaining about the contribution to GNER's coffers made by Selby MP John Grogan (April 1).
Since MPs can only claim for journeys they actually make, is Mr Meehan therefore complaining that John Grogan is an assiduous attender at the House of Commons?
Surely, having a hard working MP is something to welcome rather than denigrate? After all, we could compare Mr Grogan's record with that of, say, James Cran (Beverley and Holderness), the so-called "invisible MP", who has a near record low level of attendance in Parliament.
