RUTH Bielby came within a few points of upsetting the York and District Ladies Veterans Squash Championships after taking second seed Suzie Booth to five sets in last night's quarter finals.
Booth took the first 9-2 but Bielby hit back 7-9 in a battle that included a fourth set 8-10 in Bielby's favour before Booth eventually took the fifth 9-4.
In the plate competition, Linda Craggs came back after losing the first set 9-10 to beat Amanda Selvarantum 3-1 and set up a semi-final tie with top plate seed Rosey Taylor tonight.
