HIGH-fliers from three York secondary schools will get the chance to polish their skills at a "revision conference".
About 100 Year Nine youngsters from Manor, Lowfield and Oaklands Schools are due at Manor School on April 23 for an intensive day of revision ahead of their SATS exams in maths, English and science.
The aim of the day is to raise the achievement of the already high-achieving youngsters in all three subjects.
Teachers from Archbishop Holgate, Huntington and Manor schools will be on hand, offering a programme of science and English work in the morning and maths and English in the afternoon.
Event organiser Annette Aylett, from Manor School, said: "It's going to be quite an intensive day and quite a challenge for the youngsters, but it's amazing the number of pupils we have had sign up for it.
"It's really not that often you get this amount of youngsters willingly wanting to come in to school at the weekend - I'm looking forward to an exciting day.
"The pupils say that one of the benefits of such days is that they are amongst pupils of similar ability, so there is no issue about ability and they all want to do well."
The day will be running from 9.15am to 4.15pm in different classrooms throughout the school.
