Both Pocklington and Leodiensians scored 17 points with the strong wind behind them at Leeds, but Pocklington will feel the more disappointed after they handed the home side the initiative after the interval and allowed them to get back to draw the Yorkshire 2 match 17-17.
Pocklington went straight onto the attack and were unlucky in the third minute when Harry Allen had good claims for a touchdown disallowed.
However, it hardly mattered as soon after the Pocklington pack drove a line-out and hooker Dave Birch spun off to score, Kev Bowling converting from the touchline.
Pocklington continued to dominate and Bowling converted a penalty before adding the extras to a John-Paul Kelly try after his pack had produced an unstoppable 35-yard rolling maul.
But Pocklington failed to make the position pay when they camped on the home line at the end of the first half, and Leos pulled three points back with a penalty straight away after the restart.
Pocklington still looked comfortable despite being pinned in their own half and they were again unlucky when centre Guy Hope broke two tackles and had a clear, if long, run for the posts only for him to be pulled up short as Pocklington were belatedly awarded a disadvantageous penalty.
Leos took advantage of the let-off to score a converted try from a midfield move. Pocklington still looked the likely winners until they started to produce some basketball-like handling near their own line to needlessly put themselves under pressure.
They somehow survived but in the closing stages Leos snatched the draw with another converted try from a deft chip over the top.
