FORMER York Evening Press events co-ordinator Sam Grogan has been appointed as trade manager of the rapidly-expanding Bartercard York network.
Bartercard offers a new age method of bartering which is available to businesses and organisations in York, North and East Yorkshire, as well as South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and the City of Hull.
Sam, joined the team at the company's Heworth Road offices this week.
Chris Bradley, brokerage director of Bartercard York, said: "We have seen a large increase in the number of local companies joining the network and our brokerage is generating more than £100,000 extra business each month for those members.
"Sam's job will be to find out what goods and services our members are looking for and then finding other Bartercard members which can provide those goods and services - a job that should keep her extremely busy as our network continues to grow."
Sam said: "Bartercard is an exciting concept that can help companies grow to boost their profits without affecting their cash flow and the possibilities for companies in Yorkshire are limitless. I am looking forward to working with the Bartercard York team to provide this support and assistance to businesses of all types and sizes in the region."
Operating since 1991 Bartercard now has more than 70,000 members who use their Bartercard facility to improve cash flow, increase profits and gain guaranteed extra business.
It also operates in Australia, Cyprus, Egypt, Hong Kong, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the US.
