IN the photograph of the officer in Journey's End, on the front page of York Twenty 4 Seven, the officer is improperly dressed.
He would have worn a "Sam Brown belt". This consisted of a waist belt and a separate strap that came from the rear clip 'left', up over the shoulder 'right' and down across the chest to the clip on the waist belt on the left side.
Also, the holster should be on the left facing backwards so as to draw the pistol with the right hand across the body.
Peter Pink,
Bootham Crescent,
York.
