PERHAPS Coun Galloway would care to explain just what is the political agenda he thinks Osbaldwick Parish Council is pursuing?
We assure everyone there is not, and never has been, any political influence on the deliberations or actions of the parish council. We are all independent, unpaid, volunteers who seek only to serve the interests of the parish.
Perhaps Coun Morley could also tell us what could be more disastrous for Osbaldwick than Derwenthorpe?
We remind him that at a community panel meeting, a city official said that if the Joseph Rowntree Foundation did not develop the site then any other developer would be bound by the same constraints regarding, density and flood prevention etc.
Contrary to what Coun Morley implied in the Press, it was a number of electors in the area, and not the parish council, that influenced the decision John Greenway MP took to write to the Audit Commission. City of York Council should address the genuine concerns of all the residents around the site and stop trying to blacken the name of, or trying to blackmail, the parish council.
Coun B Hall, Chair,
Coun W M Kettlestring, vice chair, Osbaldwick Parish Council.
