Mario is certainly getting a lot of air play right now; Let Me Love You seems to be one of about three songs on the radio play list.
So will the rest of his album be as successful? On the first listen, probably not. But the R&B star has matured since bounding on to the scene when he was 15.
With smooth vocals and catchy tracks such as Couldn't Say No and Boom - a by-the-number rewrite of Usher's Yeah - and a remix of Let Me Love You, it's a definite winner second or third time round.
Not as smooth, but a cert for the dance floor, is Will Smith's attempt to ditch the nice guy image that has earned him his fortune and cut it as a gangsta rapper. Full of praise for his own talents of singing, acting, rapping and "swaggering", he tries to come across all spiritual by praising God and slamming terrorism.
It was ironic that I found myself thinking how alike Eminem he sounded when he started criticising him and other rap stars in Mr Niceguy.
Not an album I'd spend much time listening to, but it will probably impress hardened Fresh Prince fans.
