SUN-dappled melancholy seems to be where it's at for this Devon band.
The mood on this short CD is drifting and hazy, and often psychedelic as on the stand-out Seeing Is Believing, while opener Over The Bridge lays on the sort of strings that linger effectively.
This is music for a summer's day, yet, as with Brian Wilson, a suggestion of something darker lurks in the shadows. At first listening, The Superimposers seem strikingly original, building a distinctive, layered sound that makes an immediate impression.
Repeated playing lessens the charm and suggests a band with limitations. There are hints of greatness here, yet also a faintly damning lack of variety.
