GOOLE boss Paul Marshall has ruled out a move for former Aston Villa, Manchester United and Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Bosnich.

This week's Northern Counties East League newsletter linked ex-Australian international Bosnich to the Vikings but Marshall said the rumour had only surfaced because of a message left by a Goole fan on the club's web-site.

Bosnich has served the ban he received for testing positive for cocaine and is now looking for new employers.

Goole recently lost first choice keeper Chris Hull because of an arm injury but he is fit again and Marshall said: "The only thing I know about this is that one of our fans sent an e-mail to our web-site and our webmaster forwarded it on to me.

"Somebody had heard Mark Bosnich on Radio 5 Live saying that he would play anywhere to get his fitness levels back and the fan was asking whether I would be interested in taking him for our last six games with Chris Hull injured.

"But Chris has had his stitches taken out now and I imagine Bosnich would want a bit more money than we can offer but it would have been nice to stop Garforth getting all the publicity for once."

Garforth have fielded former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe this season and also made national headlines when they gave former Brazil legend Socrates a run -out.

The West Yorkshire outfit also plan to include Brazil's World Cup-winning striker Romario in their starting line-up next season.
