HOW dare B Ward of West Park, Selby, pull to pieces the efforts of Terry Smith, who bought computer games to replace those stolen from York Hospital children's wards out of the goodness of his and his customers' hearts (Letters, April 4)?
It doesn't matter whether they were £9.99 or £99.99, it's the thought that counts. Not everybody does things to get free publicity.
How can you judge somebody whose background you do not know? I know Terry personally and I know he would not do this for a freebie.
Bill Daniels,
Volta Street,
Selby.
