YORK Acorn flyer Johnny Waldron was the hero for Yorkshire as he came off the bench to score two vital tries in their Amateur County Championship decider against Cumbria.
Yorkshire, for whom Heworth forward Wayne Foster was also a substitute, won 28-14 in Hull to regain the county title after a three-year wait. Yorkshire led 10-8 at half-time before winger Waldron's brilliant brace within seven second-half minutes put them in control.
