THE Knights' front row is maintaining its hold on the Player of the Month accolade.
February's award went to John Smith, the second-row who has impressed while filling in at prop, and now the March accolade has gone to big Adam Sullivan, who finished clear in the supporters' poll - a result endorsed by Knights coach Mick Cook.
Sullivan, 22, was rested for the Good Friday 'nothing' match at Hunslet but has played big stints in the other four games, including a man of the match display in the narrow loss to Castleford.
Cook said: "Adam has been pretty solid throughout the month with consistently good performances.
"Both him and Smithy have done a great job up front, and Sully was particularly outstanding against Cas. He works hard at his game and has become a bit of a pack leader for us."
The Evening Press-sponsored Player of the Month award is voted for by fans via the Press. All you have to do is send in your votes after every month, and the player who tops the poll wins the award.
Every voter will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to a Knights home match and the chance to present the victorious player with his award.
This month's lucky reader is avid fan Gail Brown, of York.
THANKS to his Player of the Month success, Adam Sullivan has climbed to the top of the Evening Press/ Collier Plant Hire Player table, overtaking John Smith.
The three additional points gleened from this award lifted him level with Smith at the top, and he was awarded one more point for being deemed the Knights' third best player in Monday's defeat to Swinton.
The man of the match against the Lions was Ian Kirke, who collects three points, while the two points for being deemed the second-best player goes to reigning Player of the Year Lee Jackson, who thus gets off the mark this term.
The player of the year points against Hunslet went to Tom Buckenham (3pts), Craig McDowell (2) and Darren Callaghan (1).
Standings: Sullivan 10pts, Smith 9, Blaymire 6, Buckenham 5, Paterson 3, Rhodes 3, Kirke 3, Ross 3, Friend 2, McDowell 2, Jackson 2, Watson 2, Law 1, Liddell 1, Fox 1, Callaghan 1.
