VOCAL harmony trio Artisan's sixth visit to the Black Swan Folk Club in York on Thursday (7th) will be their last.
Jacey Bedford, Brian Bedford and Hilary Spencer, who first sang a cappella together 20 years ago and turned fully professional in 1989, have announced they will be parting company at the close of the year.
Artisan started out singing traditional songs and folk and pop covers but during the 1990s Brian Bedford blossomed as a writer of songs "dealing with real people and real emotions". "For this farewell tour they will be performing some of his very best material, combining broad lyrical appeal with very accessible tunes, plus a selection of other favourites from the past 20 years," says club organiser Roland Walls.
Tickets for Artisan's 8pm goodbye cost £7, concessions £6, available in advance over the bar at the Black Swan Inn, Peasholme Green, or from Roland on 01904 632922.
