IN response to the letter from David Brown, ("I wasn't asked", March 24), I too was very surprised to read about how we in the South Bank area have had extensive consultation on the use of Terry Avenue during Ascot week.
To whom were these people talking in this "consultation", none of us in the Butcher Terrace/Terry Street/Finsbury Street area were consulted at anytime. Who were these imaginary people? Where were the notices pinned up? We should at least have liked to give our opinions on this subject. After all, it concerns us.
As usual, City of York Council thinks that if nothing is mentioned about proposals such as this, it can then pass a motion (as they have) without involving the public, and ride rough shod over the local residents as they have in this case. "Keep them in the dark doesn't matter about Joe Public".
It is a wonder they don't ban all residents parking in the streets during Ascot week and have done with it.
Mrs J Dawson,
Butcher Terrace, York.
