LEEDS United manager Kevin Blackwell welcomed bargain striker Ian Moore from Burnley and paid tribute to departing hit-man Brian Deane.
Much-travelled Deane, who was in his second spell at Elland Road, joined Sunderland on a free transfer. Other departures from Elland Road included striker Julian Joachim on loan to Walsall until the end of the season, goalkeeper Kevin Pressman, who joined Coventry on a non-contract agreement, and Bradford-born Harpal Singh, who had been on loan to Stockport and joined them on a free transfer.
Blackwell also signed unattached 'keeper Sasa Ilic until the end of the season.
Of Deane's exit Blackwell said: "Brian has done a fantastic job for us. He led the line brilliantly in what was this club's toughest spell for maybe 60 or 70 years and he did it with pride.
"I can't thank Brian enough for all the work he has done."
The Leeds boss hailed Moore as a 'proven striker, who would do a good job' for the Elland Road outfit.
